NW Briefs | Jackson nets 3 recruits for UW women’s basketball program

Washington women’s basketball coach Tia Jackson’s first recruiting class will include guard Kristi Kingma (Jackson High School), forward Liz Lay (Southeast High in Oklahoma City), and Mollie Williams (Artesia High in Lakewood, Calif.), who signed letters of intent.

Lay is ranked No. 18 by HoopGurlz.com. Kingma is No. 44, according to HoopGurlz.com, and Williams is ranked No. 64 by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report.

Washington volleyball has letters of intent from Lauren Barfield (Bellevue), Kelcey Dunaway (Bainbridge Island) and Bianca Rowland (Mill Creek). Washington also is signing with gymnasts Lauren Eller (Newcastle, Calif.), Hatsune Akaogi (Cupertino, Calif.), Amanda Cline (Aurora, Colo.) and Ruby Engreitz (Kirkland).
